
Retired Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Gaigongdin Panmei from Tamenglong Assembly Constituency formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manipur Pradesh on Thursday.
A formal joining programm of Gaigongdin was organised at function held at BJP state headquarters, Thambal Sanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek Imphal.
Panmei was inducted into the party by Rajya Sabha MP and BJP Manipur Pradesh President A. Sharda Devi in the presence of senior BJP leaders.
Speaking to media Gaigongdin said, "i feel that this is the party where we can do something for the country, very inclusive and also it has very high vision for bringing the country up and bring everyone along and make it a develope nation by 2047".
Gaigongdin said that is one big reason that compelled him to join the party.
Meanwhile, Sharda Devi told reporters that BJP continues to receive growing public support across the country and that has enabled the party to form governments in several states.
She also claimed that the party is witnessing increasing support in West Bengal.
