Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 launched in Churachandpur

The month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, marking 25 years of  Prime Minister Modi’s public service  was launched by the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Krishna Kumar, at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Thursday

The campaign organised by the District Administration, Churachandpur, will be observed from September 17 to October 17, with a focus on three broad areas — Seva (Service), Sushasan (Good Governance) and Antyodaya (Welfare of the Last Person) — under the theme “Viksit Bharat – Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

During the inaugural programme, Lalrobul Fimate, Additional District Magistrate, Churachandpur, administered the Swachhata Pledge and presented the detailed action plan to the line departments for implementation during the campaign.

As part of the inaugural activities, a Seva Jyoti Yatra foot march was organised from the DC Office campus, with the participation of District Level Officers (DLOs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs). A tree plantation programme, “Seva Mera Yogdan,” was also conducted within the DC Office campus.

Addressing the participants of the programme  Krishna Kumar, said the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, to be observed from September 17 to October 2, should be viewed not merely as a short-term cleanliness drive but as an effort to bring about lasting behavioural change.

The Deputy Commissioner  emphasised that the initiative should begin with government functionaries, who must lead by example and promote a culture of cleanliness among the public while adding that the campaign for the current year would focus on behavioural change, visible and sustained cleanliness, and collective participation and ownership at the local level.

Krishna Kumar  urged the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to prepare a day-wise action plan in coordination with all line departments, civil society organisations, youth groups and women’s organisations to ensure wider participation and effective implementation of the campaign.

The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to all DLOs to encourage their staff and members of the public to participate actively in cleanliness drives.

He further said that Safai Mitras and sanitation workers of the Autonomous District Council (ADC) would be felicitated and health screening would be provided in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ADC. Painting, debate and essay competitions would also be organised in schools under the supervision of the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) and ADC, with the winners to be felicitated on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

The campaign aims to strengthen citizen outreach and public engagement, ensure the last-mile delivery of welfare schemes, identify eligible beneficiaries who remain uncovered, promote youth and community participation in service and governance, strengthen health and nutrition interventions through Anganwadi and ASHA networks, and undertake cleanliness and environmental activities at the community level.

The Deputy Commissioner said various activities would be conducted under different themes throughout the month. As part of Aashirwad Ka Diya on the inaugural day, government offices, members of the public, CSOs, youth organisations, schools and colleges were appealed to light diyas in the evening.

From September 18 onwards, awareness and service-delivery activities will be conducted across the sub-divisions, with line departments coordinating with public representatives and MLAs to reach communities and eligible beneficiaries.

Later in the afternoon, Deputy Commissioner  interacted with media persons at the DC Office and briefed them on the objectives and planned activities of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026.  He urged the media to play an important role in public service by disseminating information about the campaign, creating awareness about government schemes and initiatives, and encouraging public participation in the various programmes.

The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, SDOs and District Level Officers of various departments, besides other officials associated with the implementation of the campaign.
