Security Forces Arrest Two persons in Churachandpur for Firing Towards Security Forces

A combined team consisting of Churachandpur District Police led by Sub Divsional Police Officer Jay Barange, one platoon of 129 Battalion CRPF, and 1 coloumn of 37th Assam Rifles arrested two persons while conducted frisking and checking near Vishal Shopping Mall, Rengkai in Churachandpur district of Manipur around 4 in the evening on Wednesday.

As per the police, the two individuals were involved in an earlier incident of open firing towards security forces in Sielmat bridge, Churachandpur in which one Rapid Action Force ( RAF) personnel sustained bullet injury. (FIR No. 29(03)2026 CCP-PS U/S 189(2)/148/221/121(2)/109/3(5) BNS & 25(1-C) Arms Act).

While conducting frisking and checking, a white Maruti Suzuki Swift car bearing registration No. AS01EZ3943 was frisked, and two occupants were apprehended on suspicion. The identities of the two individuals are Ngamkhomang Haokip (36) yers of S. Moldung, Churachanpdur district and Letminthang Haokip (38) of Lhangnom village, Churachandpur. The apprehended persons, along with the vehicle and their mobile phones were brought to CCP-PS for further investigation, police stated.
