Security Force Recovers 109 Soap Cases of Suspected Brown Sugar in Two Days
As per the police, two individuals (occupants of the vehicle) were apprehended and the suspected brown sugar along with the vehicle was seized.
A combined team of District Police (Singngat Police) and 37 Assam Rifles intercepted a red colour Maruti Swift during a routine checking on May 3 and recovered 27 soap cases of suspected Heroin/Brown sugar from the vehicle.
As per the police, two individuals (occupants of the vehicle) were apprehended and the suspected brown sugar along with the vehicle was seized. The names of apprehendees are Hemang Baite, 46 years and Seikaisanglun Khongsai, 20 years from Zoljam Village in Churachandpur.
Police also stated that personnels of Churachandpur Police station and Women Police Station raided one suspected location at Tuibong and conducted a house search on Monday at around 2.30 in the evening.
During the search, suspected brown sugar was found concealed in one gunny bag and one red-coloured air bag and found to contain 82 (Eighty-Two) soap cases containing suspected brown sugar weighing 994 grams. The accused has been identified as Hatneithem Haokip (32 years), Wife of Ngamkholet Haokip of Tuibong village.
