Saikot Congress Holds Ice-Breaking Meet with Intending Candidate DP Haokip

An interactive ice-breaking meeting with Unit-Level Functionaries (Presidents and Secretaries) and DP Haokip, an intending candidate for the 59-Saikot Assembly Constituency in the upcoming Manipur Assembly Election 2027, was held today at his residence in Salbung village, Churachandpur.

The interactive ice-breaking meeting was organised by the Saikot Block Congress Committee and was attended by dignitaries and leaders from the District Congress Committee, including T. Manga Vaiphei, Working President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), and Mangkholen Gangte, President of the District Congress Committee (DCC), Churachandpur.

During the programme, Rev. Seikhohao, Pastor of the Kholmun Pastorate Area, ECA, offered a prayer for blessings for the intending candidate and his workers, while Congress Unit Functionaries extended a goodwill gesture to the intending candidate.

Addressing the interactive session, intending candidate DP Haokip said that he was seeking the Congress ticket as he considers the party to be secular and aligned with the rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India. He also expressed hope that he would be given the Congress ticket and stated that he would contest the election only with the Congress ticket.

He also expressed hope that, if elected, he would work faithfully and serve God, adding that serving the people is itself a form of serving God.

Leaders from various frontal organisations of the Congress party, including the Youth Congress and Mahila Congress, also participated in the programme.
