CRPF Organises 10-KM Marathon at Saikul to Promote Peace and Community Harmony

As part of SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development Across Nation, the 133 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the aegis of the M&N Sector, organised a 10-kilometre marathon at Saikul today to promote peace, harmony and unity, while strengthening community–CRPF relations.

The event was graced by Thangkam Lupheng, former MDC and President of Kuki Inpi Saikul, along with other dignitaries from Saikul.

The marathon was successfully conducted under the leadership of Deepak Kumar Singh, Commandant, 133 Battalion CRPF, with the participation of officers and personnel of the battalion.

S. Lalminlen Vaiphei of Govajang Village emerged as the winner, completing the 10-km race in 35 minutes and 6 seconds. He was awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000.

Karan Acharya secured the second position and received ₹6,000, while Roshan Adhikari finished third and was awarded ₹4,000.

To encourage wider participation and recognise the efforts of participants, 10 consolation prizes of ₹1,000 each were also awarded to those who secured positions from fourth to 13th.

The marathon conveyed a strong message of peace, togetherness and community harmony. The event also reaffirmed the CRPF's commitment to engaging with local communities and contributing to society beyond its operational responsibilities through meaningful community outreach and sporting activities.
