
The Food Safety Administration, Kangpokpi, in collaboration with Consumer's Affairs, Kangpokpi Town Committee under the aegis of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), today organized an “On-Spot Licensing/Registration Camp cum Awareness Programme for All Kinds of Food Businesses” at the KBC Centre Church Hall, Kangpokpi Ward No. 1.
The event aimed to promote legal compliance, food safety standards, and the importance of food fortification among food business operators in the district.
The awareness camp focused on various major aspects including — mandatory licensing/registration for all food business operators, irrespective of size, and the promotion of food fortification to ensure nutritional security.
Officials emphasized that no food business, big or small, is permitted to operate without an FSSAI license or registration, warning that legal action would be initiated against violators.
L. Johnny, Designated Officer, Food Safety Administration, Senapati (Addl. Charge Kangpokpi), attended the program as the resource person. He sensitized local entrepreneurs, food vendors, and business owners on the importance of adhering to FSSAI norms and maintaining hygiene and safety in food handling practices.
The initiative aligns with the “Eat Right India” movement, which envisions ensuring safe, healthy, and sustainable food for all. Through such on-spot licensing and awareness drives, the Food Safety Administration aims to strengthen food safety culture and ensure that every food business in Kangpokpi operates legally and responsibly.
