
In a noteworthy step toward fostering peaceful coexistence, Saitu Assembly Constituency MLA Haokholet Kipgen convened a goodwill gathering at Hengbung, uniting leaders of 12 Liangmai Naga villages and the Sadar Hills Chiefs’ Association (SAHILCA) representing the Kuki-Zo community.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation, understanding, and mutual respect between the two communities.
Chairmen and authority members from Makhan, Leikhompokpi, Khunkhu, Konsakhul, Samuk, Ireng, Langka, K. Lunroiram, Asilong, Machangram, West Harup Naga, and Lower Makhan joined the gathering alongside Kuki-Zo leaders under the banner of SAHILCA.
Addressing the assembly, MLA Haokholet Kipgen underscored the importance of unity and cooperation, stressing that peace and harmony among communities are vital for the constituency’s overall development. He urged both sides to uphold the spirit of coexistence and work together for lasting stability.
Community leaders warmly welcomed the initiative, pledging to strengthen cooperation and prevent future misunderstandings. Liangmai Naga village chiefs also affirmed their commitment, emphasizing that dialogue and collaboration remain the only sustainable paths to peace.
The Liangmai Naga leaders also expressed gratitude to the local MLA for his role in bringing the communities together. They further resolved to deepen ties with Kuki-Zo chiefs under SAHILCA to ensure enduring stability and collective progress in the region.
