Manipur Govt. Launch  ‘Manipur Fact Check’ Facebook Page to Curb Misinformation

The initiative aims to curb misinformation and verify government-related documents and orders circulating on social media.

The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Manipur  launched the official 'DIPR Manipur Fact Check' Facebook page  at the DIPR Auditorium, Imphal on Thursday.

The initiative aims to curb misinformation and verify government-related documents and orders circulating on social media.

Speaking to the media, DIPR Director Dr. Th. Charanjeet Singh, said the Facebook page  has been launched to verify viral government documents through the concerned departments and inform the public whether they are genuine or fake.

The director said that the initiative is a step towards preventing misinformation from creating confusion or unwanted incidents among the public.

While appealing  to journalists and the general public to support the initiative and provide suggestions for improving the platform, the IPR director  also urged the public to follow the 'DIPR Manipur Fact Check' Facebook page and use it to verify any doubtful government document or information circulating online.
