KSO Nagaland Extends ₹1.15 Lakh Relief to Mon Landslide Victims; KYSUK also Contributes

As devastating landslides and flash floods triggered by incessant rainfall continue to wreak havoc in Mon district of Nagaland, the Kuki Students' Organization, Nagaland (KSO-N) has extended humanitarian assistance of ₹1,15,000 to support the affected communities.

The disaster, which began after heavy rains battered the district from July 19, has left widespread destruction. Rescue teams on Friday entered the sixth day of search operations for two persons who remain missing in Thaman Ward.

In a gesture of solidarity, KSO-N, one ofthe constituent tribal student bodies in Nagaland, came forward with financial assistance to help families affected by the floods and landslides. The organisation said the donation is intended to provide relief and support to those facing immense hardship.

According to a statement issued by the Media Cell of KSO Nagaland, the organisation is also offering prayers for the affected families, expressing hope that they find strength, courage and resilience as they rebuild their lives.

Besides financial support, KSO-N volunteers and members have continued to stand with the affected communities through prayers and humanitarian efforts, demonstrating a strong spirit of unity and communityservice.

The organisation noted that the collective efforts of civil society organisations(CSOs) during times of natural disastersplay a vital role in providing immediate relief and fostering compassion among people.

The contribution of various CSOs across the state has also been widely appreciated by the affected communities, as their timely assistance has helped families cope with thedevastating impact of the floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, the Kuki Youths and Students Union Kohima (KYSUK) also contributed ₹2,000 towards relief efforts for the people of Mon district affected by the landslide.

Rescue operations continue in the district as authorities search for the two missing persons and work to assist those impacted by the ongoing natural disaster.
