KNF Rejects Langka Attack Allegations, Disowns Any Involvement; Calls Allegations ‘Baseless Propaganda’

The Kuki National Front (KNF) categorically rejected allegations linking its Home Secretary, Jangboi Kipgen, and the outfit’s cadres to the recent Langka incident in Kangpokpi district, in which two persons were killed, terming the charges “completely baseless, unfounded and devoid of truth”.

The KNF said neither its Home Secretary, Jangboi Kipgen, nor any of its cadres had “any involvement whatsoever” in the incident and accused vested interests of deliberately dragging the organisation and its leadership into the case to manufacture a false narrative and tarnish their reputation.

The outfit alleged that the accusations were part of an attempt to misuse its name for “political or ulterior purposes” through the circulation of unsubstantiated allegations, misinformation and propaganda.

“The death of innocent people must never be used to settle scores, manufacture narratives, malign individuals or organisations, or create hostility between communities,” the KNF said, cautioning against exploiting the loss of two lives for political manipulation.

The KNF also called on those responsible for making the allegations to refrain from repeating such acts, saying “dirty politics” should not be pursued at the cost of communal harmony and public peace.

It maintained that allegations concerning a serious incident must be supported by facts and credible evidence rather than speculation or narratives driven by vested interests.

Reiterating its position, the KNF said its Home Secretary, Jangboi Kipgen, had no involvement in the Langka incident and no KNF cadre was involved, describing the allegations as baseless and without any credible foundation.

The KNF urged all concerned to exercise restraint, refrain from spreading unverified allegations and misinformation, and work towards preserving peace, understanding and communal harmony.
