Representatives of the Unified Zou Organisation (UZO), Zomi Chief Association (ZCA), and the Zomi Council (ZC) on Friday met Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Babupara, extending their support to the State Government's efforts to restore peace and normalcy.
The delegation was received by the Chief Minister in the presence of MLA Tongbram Robindro, who welcomed the representatives during the meeting.
During the interaction, the three organisations discussed several issues concerning the State and assured the Chief Minister of their cooperation in advancing the Government's ongoing peace initiatives.
The discussions also focused on strengthening mutual trust and understanding among different communities in Manipur.
The delegation further submitted a proposal seeking the construction of a Multi-Utility Hall in Churachandpur to support community activities and public programmes.
The meeting is being viewed as a significant development, as it marked the first occasion on which representatives of the Unified Zou Organisation, Zomi Chief Association, and Zomi Council travelled together from Churachandpur to Imphal to meet the Chief Minister, signalling a collective commitment towards dialogue and peace-building efforts in the State.
