The observance of Separation Day 2026 was held at the Moreh Martyrs Complex, situated within the KSO Moreh Campus at Ngamkhai Veng, HTC Unit-VII. The event brought together community members, civil society leaders, and local organizations in a solemn tribute to those affected by ongoing ethnic tensions.
The program was jointly organized by several local bodies, including the Hill Tribal Council, Kuki Women's Union & Human Rights, Moreh Youth Club, Moreh Pastors Fellowship, Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi, and the Kuki Students' Organization (KSO) Moreh Block.
Religious leaders from the Moreh Pastors Fellowship led prayers for the Kuki-Zo community, remembering the martyrs, their families, and others impacted by the continuing violence in the region. The gathering observed moments of silence and reflection as attendees paid heartfelt tributes to those who lost their lives.

Speakers representing various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) addressed the crowd, voicing concerns over the political future and aspirations of the Kuki-Zo people. Emphasis was placed on the importance of unity within the community during challenging times.
The event concluded with a collective expression of demand for a separate administrative arrangement. Organizers and speakers advocated for the creation of a Union Territory with legislative powers, presenting it as a potential pathway toward addressing longstanding political and security concerns.
