Security Forces Recover Arms and Ammunition in Churachandpur

Churachandpur district police and the 2 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry conducted a joint operation at Maovom Village and its adjoining areas in Churachandpur district of Manipur on Tuesday.

According to Churachandpur police, the operation was carried out based on reliable intelligence regarding the presence of an illegal cache of arms and explosives in Thangjing Ridge in Churachandpur district.

During the operation, security forces recovered one AK-47 (Chinese-made), three single-barrel guns, one pistol with magazine, one pumpi (improvised mortar), two 35 mm grenades, and one 81 mm mortar bomb. The recovered items were handed over to the officer-in-charge of Churachandpur Police for further necessary action.
