Peace a Precondition for Development of State: CM Khemchand

CM Khemchand said that the Tronglaobi case has been handed over to the NIA and assured that the culprits will be booked.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Tuesday said that peace is a precondition for development of the State and tha he as a chief minister felt the same pain and sorrow over the unfortunate incident.

The Chief Minister made the statement while attending the inauguration of Ebudhou Phunal Ningthou Telheiba-Santhok Ningthou Apanba organised by the Lai Haraoba & Village Development Authority (LHVDA) at Chanam Sandrok.

Khemchand said amidst the government’s efforts to restore free movement along the highways for all communities of the State and the restoration of peace through dialogue and talks, the unfortunate incident of Tronglaobi occurred all of a sudden, in which two innocent children lost their lives. Such incidents caused pain and anguished to all communities, he added. 

Yumnam Khemchand said that the case pertaining to the Tronglaobi incident has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and assured that the culprits will be booked.

The chief minister stated that the local MLA had earlier submitted developmental proposals for the Keirao Assembly Constituency, which required the attention of the concerned authorities. The Chief Minister assured that necessary steps would be expedited as proposed by the local MLA for Keirao assembly constituency.

Khemchand expressed his intent to visit the constituency again in the future to review and assess the progress of developmental activities.

While felicitating five candidates from the constituency who have successfully cleared the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination, the Chief Minister said that hard work leads to success irrespective of family background and stressed the need to instil this mindset in future generations to help them succeed in life.

Delivering his presidential speech, MLA of Keirao Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei stated that the continuous visits made by the Chief Minister to various districts of the State, both in the hills and the valley, are part of the Government’s initiatives to bring normalcy to the State.

The inauguration was attended by members of the LHVDA and residents of the locality, among others.
