Police apprehend two youths for damaging newly installed road divider in Churachandpur district

Churachandur Police has apprehended two individuals on Friday for damaging the newly setup road divider (PVC pole/spring cones) along Teddim road around 11.40 pm on Thursday night.

Churachandpur Police installed the PVC poles along the road since July 26 to reduce traffic congestion in the town and to regulate proper usage of road lanes.

As per Churachandpur Police, the two apprehended persons are Jangminlun Haokip (25) years s/o Thenkhothang of Chaningpokpi, Senapati district currently staying at Pangjol village in Churachandpur and Jamminlen Haokip (25) years son of Kailam Haokip of H. Champhai, Saikul, Kangpokpi district, currently staying at ST Chullouphai, Churachandpur.

Police stated that the duo were “creating public nuisance under the influence of alcohol and damaging the newly setup road divider (PVC pole/spring cones) and obstructing the police officer on duty trying to control the situation at Tuibong traffic point, Churachanpdur at around 11:40 pm on August 27”.

As per the police, the two duo were handed over to Churachandpur Police by JMT commander namely Subedar Thangminlen Khongsai of 1st IRB. Later the two apprehended persons were produced before the Executive Magistrate for bound down under section 128 BNSS.
