Pherzawl Steps Up Nutrition and Child Protection Drive Under Poshan Pakhwada

The District Administration of Pherzawl has intensified efforts to promote child welfare and nutrition through a series of awareness programmes held under the 8th edition of Poshan Pakhwada2026 at the Community Health Centre, Parbung.

Organised in collaboration with the ICDS Cell and the District Social Welfare Office, the programme focused on the theme “Mother and Child Nutrition,” highlighting the critical importance of early childhood care and development.

Deputy Commissioner Smt. Mannuamching, IAS, while addressing the gathering, stressed the need for improved nutritional practices and early stimulation for children, particularly in the formative age group of 0–6 years. She outlined key focus areas of the campaign, including brain development in early childhood, play-based education, and the role of families in reducing screen time among young children.

The initiative also aimed at spreading awareness on health, hygiene, and education, encouraging participants to benefit from various government schemes under Mission Poshan. Officials urged the community to adopt sustainable dietary practices and contribute to strengthening Anganwadi services at the grassroots level.
