The Paite Cultural Society celebrated the Paite Cultural Festival-cum-Mithun Festival on Friday at Rayburn Autonomous College, Gangpimuol.

The festival began with the blowing of trumpets and the striking of gongs. Former Executive Director of the Paite Cultural Society (PCS), L. Nengkhopau, graced the celebration as the “Festival Pa,” or father of the festival, for the current year.

Students from Little Gems Academy showcased Paite traditional attires during the celebration, while a cultural troupe dance competition was also conducted.

Leaders of the Paite Tribe Council, Siamsinpawlpi, Young Paite Association, and Paite Literature Society also attended the celebration.

The festival was first celebrated in 2014 at Mission Compound with the aim of passing on Paite traditions and culture to the younger generation. After a gap of 12 years, the festival has been revived this year.
