Noney MLA Dinganglung Gangmei raise illegal immigrant issue in Zeliangrong areas

Noney MLA Dinganglung MLA has raised the issue of illegal immigrant and infiltration in Zeliangrong inhabited areas stating that the Zeliangrong community has been targeted because they are peace loving people.

The minister while  speaking at an event in Tousem headquarter on ovember 24 said, “ the real issue we are facing is illegal immigrant and infiltration. Please go and see highway side in Kangpokpi, Dimasa Hasao in Assam and Athibung and Peren in Nagaland”.

The MLA said lots of new villages have been coming up and that they are occupying the land of the Zeiangrong community and trying to make it their " ancestral land".

While urging the Zeliangrong people to know where they stand especially in Manipur , Diganglung said “the kind of land encroachment in Zeliangrong areas is happening in front of us. But we tend to stay silent because it does not benefit us individually but it harms as a community and as a society.”

The MLA said that the present generation should stand out, that this is not done.

Referring to Konsakhul issues in Kangpokpi district, Dinganglung said Zeliangrong people were subjected to untold misery but the people were not able to protect their land unitedly and questions the purpose of living a community and society.
