Mizoram’s Kimkim Khongsai and Liansangpuia Win Mixed Doubles Title at National Badminton Tournament

Mizoram shuttlers Kimkim Khongsai and Liansangpuia have clinched the Mixed Doubles championship title at the YONEX-SUNRISE All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2026, bringing pride and recognition to the state.

The tournament, organised under the aegis of the Rajasthan Badminton Association, was held from October 1 to 9, 2026, featuring Under-15 and Under-17 categories.

The duo’s remarkable achievement at the national-level tournament marks a significant milestone in their sporting journey and highlights the growing talent of young badminton players from Mizoram.

Kimkim Khongsai, daughter of Janglim Khongsai of Chonjang Village in Saikul, Kangpokpi district, has continued to demonstrate her dedication, perseverance and determination by competing in tournaments across various states and securing championship victories. Her family traces its roots to Khongsai Veng in Imphal.

Her latest triumph has brought immense pride and joy to her family, community and well-wishers. Her consistent performances reflect her commitment to badminton and her determination to progress to greater heights in the sport.
