The Kuki National Front (KNF–N) on Tuesday extended Christmas and New Year greetings to the Kuki-Zo community, while paying tribute to those who lost their lives during the ethnic violence in Manipur.
In a statement issued on the occasion of Christmas and the forthcoming New Year 2026, KNF–N Supremo H. James Kuki said the organisation expressed gratitude to God for His continued grace and providence as the year draws to a close.
The outfit said it remembered with reverence those who laid down their lives during the violence that erupted in 2023, describing their sacrifices as efforts to protect the land, identity and dignity of the Kuki-Zo people. Their courage and resolve, it said, would continue to inspire future generations.
The KNF–N conveyed condolences to the families of those killed, acknowledging the enduring pain and loss suffered by the bereaved.
Emphasising the message of Christmas, the statement said the festive season should usher in peace, unity and harmony among the Kuki-Zo people. It expressed hope that the New Year would bring renewed political clarity, collective strength and progress for the community.
Calling for calm and steadfastness, the organisation urged the community to remain united and resolute in pursuing its political aspirations with discipline and commitment. It said the coming year should further strengthen solidarity and a shared sense of purpose
