Kishan Mela cum exhibition held in Churachandpur under Seva Sankalp Utsav Campaign

Agricultural Technology Management Agency (Churachandpur) organised Kishan Mela cum Exhibition 2026 at District Panchayat Resource Centre, Minis secretariat Tuibong Churachandpur on Thursday.

The mela was organised under the theme natural farming for sustainable agriculture. Different self-help groups, entrepreneurs, food business operators opened stalled during the mela.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur Krishna Kumar said organising Kishan Mela is a great opportunity for all the farmers of every area while adding that farmers get exposure whenever they participate in exhibitions and mela.

Stating that Churachandpur district has great potential in different crops and fruits, the deputy commissioner said the district administration has instructed all line departments to reach out to each and every village chief, farmers to know their interest.

Speaking to IANS District Agriculture Officer (incharge) Sutthianlal said the mela is a great success while informing that stalls were opened from line departments like horticulture KVK ,Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission and other Self Help Groups.

Sutthianlal informed that all together around 14-15 stalls were opened in the mela. He said the  mela is organised all over the state in every district and it is one of the  activities under agricultural technology management agency to promote the interest of the farmers so that  farmers can come together, share their ideas and  learn lots of things from each other.

During the mela the participants are given an opportunity to interact with technical experts from line departments, scientist and farmers expert so that whatever problems they are facing at field level  can be sorted out, he added

This year, Sutthianlal said the mela is organised under the theme natural farming for sustainable agriculture with aim and objective to promote healthy production of foods that is chemical free, good for health, eco friendly so that there can be sustainability in agriculture practice.
