Churachandpur Police, DRI and AssamRifles seize 970.28 grams of heroin

Preliminary testing of the recovered goods with Field Drug Testing Kit test shows positive results for the presence of Heroin and the substance was seixed along with the vehicles.

Combine team of Churachandpur district police, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Imphal and 37th Assam Rifles seized 970.29 grams of heroin from two individuals in Churachandpur district on intervening night of November 18 and 19.

Acting on reliable sources on November 18 regarding movement of contraband items, combine teams of CCPur District Police, DRI Imphal and 37th Assam Rifles maintain a strict vigil along Tiddim road at Likhai village stated a release issued by police department stated a release issued by the police

At about 12:30, a Yamaha R15 bearing registration No.MN-06SD- 1083 and one Mahindra Bolero bearing registration no. MN04A-6964 were intercepted one after another.

As per the release, the driver of two wheeler introduced himself as David Sian Muan Lian (26 years) S/o St Paul Haukhanthang Resident of Headquarter Veng, Singngat, Chanchandpur district and the driver of Mahindra Bolero introduced himself as Nehgoumang (23 years) S/o Thiankhanlian resident of Boljol village, Churachandpur.

Both of them were issued with summon and brought them to 37 Assam Rifles, Khuga, Churachandpur, stated the release.
On thorough search of the vehicles in presence of independent witnesses, 86 number of soap cases suspected to be heroin hidden at the engine compartment of the Mahindra Bolero of the suspects was recovered.

Upon weighing, the substance weigh around 970.28 grams. Two Mobile phones Pocco X7Pro with SIM 6009705713 & 8414010327, Redmi 10 5G with SIM 9863776614 of the accused were seized.


Accordingly both of them were arrested and case has been taken up by DRI, Imphal for thorough investigation, stated the release.
