Churachandpur Comes to a Standstill Amid Shutdown Demanding Justice for BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte

The shutdown has been imposed in demand of justice for late BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte from Churachandpur district.

Normal life has been immensely affected, and daily activities were put on hold in Churachandpur district of Manipur following the total shutdown imposed by Zomi frontal organisations under the aegis of the Zomi Coordination Committee since Wednesday morning.

The shutdown has been imposed in demand of justice for late BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte from Churachandpur district.

Business establishments, markets, shops, and educational institutions remain closed. Only a few pharmaceutical stores were seen open in some areas.

Volunteers supporting the shutdown took to the streets early in the morning and enforced the shutdown in different localities of the district.

Objects were placed on roads to obstruct the movement of vehicles. However, emergency services were allowed passage.

The shutdown began in the morning and will continue till 6 in the evening today. At the time of filing this report, no untoward incidents had been reported.
