Chruachandpur Deputy Commissioner assess living conditions of IDPs, distributes fire extinguishers to relief centres

Churachandpur Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar on Thursday assessed the living conditions of IDPS  and also distributed fire extinguishers to three relief centres in the district as a part of safety initiative .

Continuing his field visits to relief centres and direct engagement with internally displaced persons (IDPs), Krishna Kumar, visited three relief centres in Churachandpur town and Tuibong areas to assess the living conditions and basic needs of the displaced families on Thursday.

Krishna Kumar visited visited the Light House Cinema Hall Relief Centre, District Agriculture Office Relief Centre at Tuibong and Tuibong Community Hall Relief Centre. During his visit, the deputy commissioner interacted with the IDPs and heard their grievances and requests.

During the interactions, the IDPs apprised the Deputy Commissioner of their grievances and basic needs. A total of 81 families, comprising more than 400 IDPs, are currently sheltered at the three relief centres.

A medical team led by Dr Lalboi, under the supervision of Dr Ph. Henkhoneng Mate, Chief Medical Officer, Churachandpur, conducted free health check-ups at the relief centres. Medicines were also distributed free of cost to IDPs requiring treatment.
