CCPUR Half Marathon 2026 Draws 4,000 Participants, Promotes Fitness, Unity and Drug-Free Lifestyle

The Half Marathon was flagged off at 0630 hours by Krishna Kumar, IAS, DC, Churachandpur, from Peace Ground, Churachandpur.

The CCPUR Half Marathon 2026, organised by 58 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), was successfully conducted today at Churachandpur, with the enthusiastic participation of approximately 4,000 male and female participants. The distances covered were 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km.

The event was organised with the objective of promoting peace and harmony, physical fitness, sportsmanship, healthy living, community participation, and a drug-free lifestyle, particularly among the youth.

The Half Marathon was flagged off at 0630 hours by Krishna Kumar, IAS, DC, Churachandpur, from Peace Ground, Churachandpur.

The runners followed the designated route covering Peace Ground → Bus Stop → Kuki-Anglo War Memorial Gate → Kangvai Junction → Peace Ground, before finishing at Peace Ground.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from people belonging to different sections of the community. The spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and collective participation remained the key takeaway from the event.

The successful conduct of the Half Marathon was made possible through the coordinated efforts of 58 Bn CRPF, the Sports Authority of India, Churachandpur District Administration, District Police, Fire & Emergency Services, medical teams, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

A Prize Distribution and Closing Ceremony was subsequently organised at Peace Ground, Churachandpur, at 0900 hours, where the winners and outstanding performers were felicitated with cash prizes, medals, and certificates in their respective categories for their achievements. The winners were:

Distance: 21 km

Name: Md. Jamir Khan
Category: 30–45 years (Male)
Distance: 10 km

(III)
Name: Md. Imtiyaz Rahman
Category: Above 45 years (Male)
Distance: 5 km

(IV)
Name: Makak Mayum Miharashi
Category: Up to 30 years (Female)
Distance: 10 km

(V)
Name: Hoineivah Haokip
Category: 30–45 years (Female)
Distance: 5 km

(VI)
Name: Lamneikim
Category: Above 45 years (Female)
Distance: 5 km

Cash prizes of ₹30,000, ₹20,000, ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 were awarded to the winners, as applicable, along with medals and certificates. The prizes were presented by Gaurav Dogra, IPS, SP, Churachandpur, who was the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to the Chief Guest, distinguished guests, participants, volunteers, media representatives, and all supporting agencies whose presence and cooperation contributed to the successful conduct of the event.

The Commandant, 58 Bn CRPF, stated that the CCPUR Half Marathon was envisaged not merely as a sporting event but as a platform to bring the community together through fitness and healthy activities. He expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to encourage the youth and the wider community to embrace sports, fitness, and a healthy lifestyle.

The successful completion of the CCPUR Half Marathon 2026 marks another significant community-oriented initiative by 58 Bn CRPF in collaboration with SAI, reinforcing the message: “Run for Fitness • Run for Unity • Run for Community”
