BJP Manipur Pradesh President A. Sharda Devi Elected Unopposed to Rajya Sabha

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi has been elected unopposed as the Member of Parliament to the Rajya Sabha from Manipur.

Sharda Devi secured the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the state after no other candidate filed nomination papers for the election. She will succeed the incumbent Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba, whose term is scheduled to conclude on June 21, 2026.

Her unopposed election marks a significant milestone in her political career and further strengthens the BJP's representation in the Upper House of Parliament from Manipur.

Congratulating the newly elected MP, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh extended his best wishes and expressed confidence in her ability to contribute meaningfully to the state and the nation.

In a congratulatory message, the Chief Minister stated, “Heartiest congratulations to Smt. Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi Ji on being elected unopposed as a Member of the Rajya Sabha from Manipur in the Rajya Sabha Elections, 2026.”

He further noted that her extensive administrative and political experience would be a valuable asset in promoting women’s empowerment, inclusive development, and good governance in line with the vision of Antyodaya championed by Narendra Modi.
