
Thiaumuanlal Guite, a 20-year-old martial artist from Kangkap village in Churachandpur district of Manipur, has emerged victorious in the prestigious F3 Strike Combat Tournament held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tournament was organized by Persatuan Mixed Martial Arts Kuala Lumpur and featured top fighters from across the region.
Competing in the flyweight category (52.3 kg – 56.7 kg), Guite secured his championship title after defeating Tay Yi Heng in the semi-finals on May 18, followed by back-to-back wins against Muhammad Yusuf and Nadhir Izzat in the finals held on July 27. Along with the championship belt, he was awarded a cash prize of ₹18,44,100.
Guite, the youngest of seven siblings born to Kamlianpau and Ngailianmawi, began his martial arts journey in 2018 under the guidance of Master DC Khup. His talent quickly rose to prominence, earning him a silver medal at the Manipur State Olympic Judo in 2019 and another silver in a professional boxing tournament held in Delhi in 2020.
His list of accolades continued to grow in 2024 when he won a championship belt at the 'Clash of the Titans: Inside India's Premier MMA Championship - Knockout Combat League, Season 3'. So far, Thiaumuanlal has collected three championship belts and seven gold medals in various combat sports competitions.
In preparation for his professional career, Guite completed an intensive Mixed Martial Arts course in Thailand, sponsored by the EBC Church. He trained at the renowned Tiger Muay Thai Centre in Phuket's Chalong area and is now a certified Muay Thai coach.
Looking ahead, Thiaumuanlal Guite is set to compete in the upcoming One Pride Fighting Championship in Indonesia — a platform that could further propel his career onto the global stage.
