Candlelight Vigil Held in Moreh to Remember Six Kuki-Zo Killed by Naga Militants

The Moreh Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) strongly condemned the reported killings and expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives.

A candlelight vigil was held on Wednesday at the Moreh Martyrs Complex on the KSO Moreh Block campus in Ngamkhai Veng, Moreh, Tengnoupal district, to remember six Kuki-Zo persons who were reportedly killed in separate incidents in Tamenglong and Noney districts.

According to the CSOs, the six individuals were killed on September 13 and 14 in incidents involving the NSCN-IM and ZUF (Kamson) group.

The Moreh Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) strongly condemned the reported killings and expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives.

The CSOs called on the concerned authorities to take necessary and appropriate action at the earliest, ensure a thorough investigation into the incidents and deal with the matter in accordance with the law.

The candlelight vigil was observed peacefully as a gesture of solidarity with the bereaved families and in remembrance of those who lost their lives.

The CSOs said the gathering was intended to convey condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirm the community's call for due legal action.
