
The Manipur Police on Wednesday disposed of pre-trial and post-trial seized narcotic substances at the Shija Common Biomedical Waste Treatment Facility in Lamdeng, Imphal West.
A total of 39.395 kilograms of various narcotic substances seized in different operations conducted by district police units, the Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) and other security agencies were destroyed in the presence of media personnel.
The seized contraband included 4.444 kilograms of heroin powder, 5.353 kilograms of brown sugar, 0.422 kilograms of WY tablets, 2.668 kilograms of SP capsules, and 26.508 kilograms of ganja.
Speaking to media persons, Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) and Narcotics and Border Affairs (NAB) Ningshen Worngam, said the disposal was carried out in coordination with various security agencies at the biomedical waste treatment facility.
He said the police have have conducted the pre-trial and post-trial disposal of seized narcotic drugs by Manipur Police in coordination with other security agencies.
