KSO Sadar Hills Hits Back at ANSAM, Alleges NSCN-IM Hand Behind Church Leaders’ Ambush

“ANSAM’s ‘premature blame game’ without evidence was a calculated attempt to push a communal narrative against the Kuki-Zo people.”

In an explosive statement, the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) Sadar Hills launched a fierce counterattack against the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), accusing it of making “reckless and politically motivated allegations” aimed at vilifying the Kuki-Zo community amid escalating ethnic tensions in the hill districts.

KSO Sadar Hills categorically rejected ANSAM’s attempt to implicate the Chief of Leilon Vaiphei Village, Lalboi Vaiphei, in the alleged abduction of six Naga individuals, terming the accusations “baseless, irresponsible and deliberately misleading.”

The student body asserted that while the abduction issue warrants lawful investigation, ANSAM’s “premature blame game” without evidence was a calculated attempt to push a communal narrative against the Kuki-Zo people.

Escalating its attack, KSO Sadar Hills invoked the March 2026 Ukhrul incident, alleging that Tangkhul militants linked to the NSCN-IM Eastern Flank had earlier held five innocent Kuki civilians captive. The organisation claimed enraged Kuki villagers subsequently detained 21 Naga individuals, but later released them safely following an amicable settlement aimed at restoring peace between the two communities.

The organisation further alleged that despite the release agreement, two Kuki hostages were killed by militants, while three others managed to escape captivity.

KSO Sadar Hills claimed that the recent ambush on three Kuki church leaders was directly linked to “Naga militants, specifically the NSCN-IM and its proxy, the Kamson Faction,” allegedly aided by individuals associated with valley-based insurgent groups.

The statement also strongly condemned what it described as the “unlawful captivity” of 14 innocent Kuki civilians, including three students, allegedly carried out by the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA), a Naga student body based in Senapati district.

Demanding immediate legal action, KSO Sadar Hills said the SDSA executives “must be held accountable and prosecuted under the law of the Indian Constitution.”

Drawing a parallel to ANSAM’s allegations against the Leilon chief, the KSO argued that by the same logic, the Chairman and executives of the Senapati Town Committee should also be held responsible for the alleged abduction of 25 innocent Kuki civilians within their jurisdiction.
