71 year of Kuki man found dead, CoTU announce 24 hour total shutdown across Kangpokpi district

As per sources, the search team recovered the body of Hemjang between Khukho and Lanka village with his hands and legs tied with rope and with broken limbs

A 71 year old kuki man from Khunkho village in Kangpokpi district who was missing since October 3 was found dead on Sunday. The body was recovered in the evening during a search operation conducted by local residents along with security forces and state police.

As per sources, the search team recovered the body of Hemjang between Khukho and Lanka village with his hands and legs tied with rope and with broken limbs

Following the news about the recovery of the body, the Committee on Tribal Unity has announces a total shutdown across Kangpokpi District, effective from 12:00 am, on October 5 to 6 October, 12:00 A.M.

As per CoTU, the shutdown has been called as a mark of mourning and solace for late Hemkhojang Haokip .

During the shutdown, all government offices, educational institutions, and commercial establishments will remain closed, with exemptions only for media and medical emergencies.

CoTU advised the general public of Kangpokpi is earnestly advised to strictly comply with shutdown in mourning and solace for the departed soul of the late Hemkhojang Haokip.
