Youths in Churachandpur district took to the streets on Thursday night to protest against the participation of Kuki-Zo MLAs in the formation of the Manipur government.

The protest, led mainly by young men, began around 6 pm at the Tuibong traffic junction, where demonstrators blocked the road to express their anger and dissent. Protesters burnt old tyres and other materials on the roadway, disrupting traffic movement in the area.

State and central security forces, including the Rapid Action Force (RAF), intervened to control the situation. Security personnel fired a few rounds of tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Although the protesters regrouped at the site later, security forces calmly persuaded them to maintain peace. The situation was brought under control by around 8 pm.

Till the filing of this report, both protesters and security forces remained present at the protest site, and the situation was reported to be under control
