
The Thadou Students’ Association (TSA), Sadar Hills, on Sunday announced the names of outstanding educational institutions in Kangpokpi District, recognising excellence in academics, extracurricular performance and overall contribution to quality education.
The announcement followed the successful completion of the TSA-organised ‘Education Carnival’, under which 30 academic and extracurricular competitions were conducted over a span of 13 months, from October 5, 2024 to November 22, 2025. The competitions witnessed wide participation from schools across the district and aimed at nurturing talent, assessing aptitude and promoting holistic development among students.
Based on cumulative performance in all competitions, Apex Christian English School was adjudged Best School of the District, while St. Vincent School and Ideal Senior Secondary School were declared First Runners-up and Second Runners-up respectively.
Other institutions that demonstrated exceptional performance and were acknowledged for their excellence include Omega Public School, TL Shalom Academy, MBC Higher Secondary School, Pathfinder Academy, Apple Buds, Elite Higher Secondary School, Baptist English High School and Mount Olivet Unique Academy.
The Education Carnival featured a wide range of competitions including debate, extempore speech, symposium, poem and rhyme recitation, talent hunt, gospel action song, solo singing, school queen pageant, pageant parade and stand-up comedy. In addition, Mathematics and Science examinations for students from Classes VI to X were conducted to assess intellectual aptitude and academic proficiency.
The TSA stated that the performances reflected the dedication, seriousness and competence of the institutions and the tireless efforts of teachers in grooming students into confident and capable individuals.
In individual achievements, Miss Lhingjemkim Lhouvum and Miss Kimhoichong Thangeo, both from Apex Christian English School, were awarded ‘Student of the Year’ and ‘Student of the Year Runners-up’ respectively, for their outstanding performances across multiple competitions.
