Teddim Chin Youth Association Celebrates ‘Khuado Pawi’ in Churachandpur

The Teddim Chin Youth Association (TCYA) General Headquarters celebrated the traditional ‘Khuado Pawi’ festival with grandeur and cultural fervour on Thursday at Teddim Chin Innpi, Lanva, Churachandpur.

The event was graced by MLA LM Khaute of 58-Churachandpur Assembly Constituency as the Chief Guest, while Thangsuanlian Tombing, Life Member of TCYA-GHQ, and S. Zamkhanpau, General Headquarters President of the Sukte Tribe Union (STU), attended as Guest of Honour and Functional President, respectively.

Former TCYA-GHQ President Dr. H. Pauzachin was honoured as the ‘Kut Pa’ of the celebration. Delivering a key address, Dr. Pauzachin spoke about the rich history and cultural significance of the Khuado Pawi festival, a traditional harvest celebration of the Teddim Chin community.

The festival featured vibrant cultural performances by various TCYA units, including Lamka Unit, Behiang (T) Unit, Lanva Unit, Hangsum Unit, Pangzawl Unit, Suangdai, Tangnuam Unit, Mata Mualtam Unit, Lamzang Unit, Moreh Unit, Suangphuh, Shillong Unit, and the Delhi Tedim Chin Development Society.

Traditional dances and folk presentations showcased the community’s heritage, unity, and joy in celebrating the festival.
