In a proactive effort to address stress management among security forces, a special session on Yoga and Meditation was organised for CRPF personnel at two locations in Kangpokpi District — C/112 Bn CRPF, Motbung and Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi — on May 12 and 13, 2025, respectively.
The sessions were conducted by Assistant Professors Mr. Narinder Anand and Ms. Sweta Anand from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kerala. The two-day programme aimed to promote mental well-being and stress relief through practical and theoretical approaches to yoga and meditation.
Organised under the guidance of Shri Ranjan Kumar Baruah, Commandant of 112 Bn CRPF, the event saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 250 personnel, including senior officers and jawans from 112 Bn and 94 Bn CRPF, as well as E/131 Bn BSF.
Prominent attendees included Hemant Kumar, IAS, from the Kangpokpi District Administration; Dr. Umashankar Verma, CMO; Mukesh Taterway, Second-in-Command; JP Singh, Second-in-Command; Shri Rajendra Prasad Raiger, Deputy Commandant; and several Assistant Commandants from the respective battalions.
The trainers shared valuable insights on how regular practice of yoga and meditation can reduce stress, enhance mental clarity, and improve overall well-being — all essential traits for personnel working under high-pressure environments.
Participants appreciated the initiative and the opportunity to learn practical techniques to help balance professional duties with personal health.
