Following the State Government's failure to respond within the 48-hour period to the ultimatum served for the transfer of the Superintendent of Police and the Additional Superintendent of Police (Law & Order), Senapati District, the Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has declared total non-cooperation with the said officers.
SDSA made this declaration in a notice issued on June 11 and advised the general public, civil society organizations (CSOs), and all concerned stakeholders to refrain from any engagement, cooperation, or correspondence with these officers in both civil and official capacities.
SDSA stated that the decision was necessitated by the unprofessional conduct and mishandling of a peaceful democratic agitation by the Superintendent of Police and the Additional Superintendent of Police (Law & Order), Senapati District, as well as the government's indifference to legitimate public concerns.
SDSA further declared that they should not be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order or any threat to public safety resulting from the continued service of these officers in the district.
Furthermore, considering the growing public mistrust and resentment towards these officials, the SDSA office categorically stated that it shall not be responsible in any manner for the personal security and well-being of the said officers.
The non-cooperation declared shall remain in force until due action is taken and the officials in question are relieved of their posts, said the SDSA, which also appealed to everyone to be vigilant and prepared for any future course of action.
