The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has urged the Administrator of Churachandpur Medical College (CMC), Churachandpur, to comply with the revised government pay structure and rectify the daily wages notified for the engagement of 38 non-teaching staff on a daily wage basis at CMC.
The TYCM has submitted a representation to the Director and the Administrator of Churachandpur Medical College, Churachandpur, Manipur, on June 5 regarding the matter.
TYCM stated that Churachandpur Medical College (CMC) issued a notification vide No. 1/3/CMC-MR/2022 (Pt), dated 12th May 2025, inviting applications for a walk-in interview for the engagement of 38 non-teaching staff on a daily wage basis for a period of one year.
The prescribed daily wages as per the notification are Office Assistant: Rs. 273/day, Laboratory Assistant / Dissection Assistant: Rs. 248/day, Attendant: Rs. 225/day, Caretaker: Rs. 225/day and Sweeper: Rs. 225/day
However, the Secretariat: Finance Department (Pay Implementation Cell), Government of Manipur, has already issued an order on March 5, 2025, published in the Manipur Gazette No. 389, dated 10th March 2025, revising the minimum daily wages for non-scheduled employment are Unskilled: Rs. 400/day, Semi-skilled: Rs. 440/day and Skilled: Rs. 480/day.
"The wage rates mentioned in the CMC notification dated 12th May 2025 appear arbitrary and inconsistent with the revised minimum wages mandated by the Government of Manipur. This discrepancy violates the rights of potential workers and is against established norms and orders," TYCM added.
