
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari informed the chief minister of Manipur Yumnam Khemchand on Thursday that the proposed elevated highway project in Imphal is under active consideration of the Ministry.
Yumnam Khemchand Singh today called on Nitin Gadkari on Thursday at his official residence in New Delhi and raised various issues related to the development of the State.
During the meeting, Khemchand urged Gadkari to start the construction work of the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Highway and requested him to sanction the proposed elevated highway project in Imphal city.
The chief minister also urged the Union Minister to ensure the completion of the ongoing works of National Highway-37 and National Highway-2 during this working season to improve connectivity and ease the hardships faced by the people.
Nitin Gadkari assured the Chief Minister that all projects and issues raised by the State Government will be duly addressed and that his Ministry will extend all possible help to Manipur for its overall development and road connectivity.
