
Meitei Leepun, a socio-cultural organization has extended a warm welcome to the upcoming visit of upcoming NSCN IM leader Thuingaleng Muivah to his native village Somdal in Ukhrul district of Manipur which is expected on October 22.
Th. Muivah is expected to visit his native village Samodal village in Ukhrul district in October 22.
In a release issued on Wednesday , Meitei Leepun stated that Muivah is not only a respected leader of the Naga people but an inspirational and visionary figure admired across communities to his native village and his motherland, Manipur.
Allowing his return after more than 50 years to his ancestral village is a wise and compassionate decision by New Delhi a moment of deep emotional and historical significance for the people of Manipur says Meitei Leepun.
The release stated that Meitei Leepun has been pursuing this noble cause through various channels since 2015.
“Shri Muivah has long been recognized as a leader who stood firm for the land and its people, guiding generations through the struggles and transitions that shaped our region from the colonial era to the post-Independence period. His life's journey reflects conviction, identity, and the awakening of indigenous consciousness”, Meitei Leepun stated .
Meitei Leepun also expressed firm believes that the visit should serve as an opportunity to strengthen the bond of brotherhood between the Nagas and the Meiteis, to promote mutual understanding, initiate trustful dialogue, and reaffirm our collective commitment to peace, unity, and coexistence in the State.
