Kuki Zo Council reiterates position of Kuki Zo to BJP National leaders

The Kuki Zo Council has reiterated the position of Kuki Zo people to the General Secretary (Organization), BJP B.L. Santhosh and National spokesperson BJP  Sambit Patra during their meeting a Churachandpur on Thursday.

The two BJP leaders who reached Churachandpur district on thursday visited relief camps, intereacted with the IDPs and also distributed different items to the IDPs. Later they had a closed door meeting with the Kuki civil society organisations and the Kuki Zo MLAs as well.

During the interaction at the Deputy commissioner bungalow, the KZC delegation reportedly apprised the visiting leaders of Kuki Zo’s collective position , emphasizing the need to maintain the status quo along the buffer zone and to pursue an early political settlement for the Kuki-Zo before the invocation of any popular government in Manipur.

Source stated that the KZC delegation made it categorically clear that Kuki Zo are not opposed to the BJP Government and also informed the BJP leaders that the prevailing ground realities have made it untenable for the Kuki-Zo community to participate willingly in the process of forming a new state government at this juncture.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides engaging in constructive dialogue on the path toward peace, stability, and a just political resolution source stated.
