Kuki–Zo Council Organises Mass Rally in Moreh Demanding Expedited Political Solution

Thousands of people participated in the rally, reflecting strong public support and unity among the Kuki–Zo community.

A public mass rally was organised by the Kuki–Zo Council at Moreh in Tengnoupal district to voice the collective aspirations of the Kuki–Zo people and press for an expedited political solution.

The rally was spearheaded by the Kuki Chief Association (KCA) Moreh Block and the Hill Tribal Council Moreh, along with various tribal civil society organisations (CSOs) of Moreh, under the aegis of KCA Tengnoupal. The event witnessed active coordination and participation from all concerned stakeholders.

The primary objective of the rally was to urge the Government to expedite a political settlement, with a specific demand for the creation of a Union Territory with Legislature for the Kuki–Zo people. Addressing the gathering, Tongkholen Mate, Vice-President of the Kuki–Zo Council, highlighted the long-standing issues faced by the community and emphasised the need for an early and amicable solution through constitutional means.

Thousands of people participated in the rally, reflecting strong public support and unity among the Kuki–Zo community. The programme was conducted peacefully and in an organised manner.
