Kuki Students Organisation Churachandpur holds candlelight vigil in honour of two Kuki village volunteers

The community as a whole is anguished by the actions of the Tangkhul militants.

Kuki Students Organisation Churachandpur held a candlelight vigil in honour of Paominlun Haolai and Letlal Sitlou, who were killed on April 24 in Ukhrul district.

The candlelight vigil, which began around 8 at night, was organised at the office of the Kuki Students Organisation Churachandpur, situated in Tuibong. People from different areas of the district turned up for the vigil.

Speaking to The Hills Journal, President of the Kuki Students Organisation Churachandpur, Minlal Gangte, said, “The candlelight vigil has been organised in memory of the lives we have lost and in solidarity with the people of Mulam Village, who were attacked earlier this morning by Tangkhul militants in Ukhrul district.”

He said the whole Kuki community worldwide felt something deeply in their hearts, as their people are being targeted like this. The community as a whole is anguished by the actions of the Tangkhul militants.
