Responding to the statement issued by Zeliangrong Baudi, wherein Tony Singsit was portrayed as the President of Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland, the Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland advised the Zeliangrong Baudi to verify facts before issuing public statements.
The Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland clarified that Tony Singsit, son of L. Singsit, IPS (Retd.), is not the President of Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON).
KSO Nagaland issued a clarification stating that Tony has never been associated with the students’ body as an office bearer, although he may be regarded as a member by virtue of being from Nagaland, as he hails from Saijang Village under Peren district.
KSON requested all concerned to properly verify facts before issuing public statements so as to avoid misleading the public and creating unnecessary misunderstandings.
The Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) also warned Kuki individuals from Nagaland against commenting on issues concerning Manipur.
The student body stated that the Kukis of Nagaland have historically been part of the Naga movement. It further stated that whatever conflicts exist in Manipur between different communities are best left to the people of Manipur to resolve.
KSO Nagaland warned Kuki students, the public, and media personnel to desist from making any comments, engaging in debates, or publishing materials concerning Manipur.
KSON declared that the organisation would not be responsible for any problems arising if community members fail to comply with this directive.
