KCC Marks Ruby Jubilee, Symbolising Era of Testing, Faith and Historic Fulfilment

Church leaders underscored the profound biblical symbolism of the number 40 — representing seasons of testing, preparation and ultimate fulfilment

In a powerful testament of faith forged through trial and transformation, the Kangpokpi Christian Church (KCC) marked its Ruby Jubilee, commemorating 40 years of spiritual endurance, divine testing and the fulfilment of God’s promises — a milestone deeply rooted in Christian scripture.

Held at its church campus in Gamhoi Veng under the theme “This Far the Lord Has Helped Us,” the celebration drew large congregations and church leaders, reflecting not merely an anniversary but a declaration of survival, growth and spiritual triumph.

Church leaders underscored the profound biblical symbolism of the number 40 — representing seasons of testing, preparation and ultimate fulfilment. From the 40 years of Israel’s wilderness journey to the 40 days of Christ’s fasting, speakers reminded the faithful that divine promise often follows prolonged perseverance. The four-decade journey of KCC, they said, mirrors that sacred pattern.

Dr. T. Lunkim, Administrative Secretary of the Kuki Christian Church (Assembly), graced the occasion as Chief Guest and unveiled the Jubilee Monolith, symbolising spiritual steadfastness and covenantal faith. The monolith was dedicated by Pastor Nehcha Chongloi, while a Jubilee Balloon release marked the dawn of a renewed chapter.

In a rare fusion of faith and heritage, the celebration opened with the blowing of Pheiphit — an age-old Kuki traditional instrument symbolising honour and welcome — performed by Kangpokpi Christian Upate (KCU). The first session concluded with Vakol Lam, a traditional folk dance presented by Kangpokpi Christian Khangthahte (KCK), reflecting the harmonious blending of indigenous identity and Christian devotion.

A solemn condolence service led by Rev. J. Lunkim paid homage to departed leaders and members whose sacrifices laid the spiritual foundation of the church’s four-decade journey.

Delivering the keynote address, KCC Secretary Chungminthang Thangeo highlighted the theological weight of the 40-year milestone, stating that KCC’s journey through uncertainties and adversities stands as living testimony of preparation before promise. “Forty is never accidental in scripture,” he noted, “it signifies divine shaping before destiny.”

A commemorative Jubilee Souvenir honouring faithful members, elders, pastors, missionaries and well-wishers was released by Dr. T. Lunkim and dedicated by Dr. Hemkhochon Chongloi, Principal of Trulock Theological Seminary, calling the next generation to uphold unity, service and unwavering faith.

Dr. Satkhokai Chongloi, Assistant Executive Secretary of KCC Manipur Synod, delivered the Jubilee Homily, urging believers to remain anchored in faith as the church steps into its next season of purpose and expansion. The Chief Guest concluded the service with a blessing prayer for continued spiritual growth and resilience.

As Manipur continues to navigate complex social and political realities, the Ruby Jubilee of Kangpokpi Christian Church emerged as a resonant national narrative of hope — affirming that seasons of testing can culminate in fulfilment, and that faith sustained over time becomes a living testimony to divine promise.

The 40-year milestone stands not merely as a commemorative event, but as a proclamation: endurance shapes destiny, and faith ultimately triumph
