Condemning the destruction and vandalism of K.Songlung village sign boards - farm sign board, forest department approved notice and entry gate in Kangpokpi district, the village authorities of K. Songlung Village Part I and II have set a 2/3- day deadline to the individuals responsible for the act to come forward, apologize and explain their behaviour.

Failure to do so would result in the matter being handed over to the concerned authority for a full investigation, and all legal consequences would be pursued, said the village authority in a statement issued on Saturday.

The authorities stated that the incident/ vandalism was believed to have occurred on the night of September 11 though it was later discovered on September 12.

"At a time, when the situation in Manipur is already fragile, such a kind of uncivilized behavior has the potential to flare up tensions and disturb the long peaceful co-existence of good neighbors," the village authority said.
