The Joint Tribes Council, a collective body of the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Zeme tribes, has strongly discouraged the public from travelling along NH-37 due to the tense situation prevailing at present.

The council also advised the public to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel, especially along the Tungjémaril road, until the situation improves.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the JTC advised that individuals stranded in unsafe locations should immediately seek refuge at the nearest security forces station or nearby Naga villages for their safety and assistance.
