The Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh, has extended its full cooperation to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 of the Electoral Roll being undertaken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) through the Additional Deputy Commissioner for the Moreh Sub-Division.
While expressing support for the exercise, the council highlighted several crucial points to ensure the revision drive is carried out smoothly, fairly, and without grievances from the public.
The HTC urged citizens to actively participate by presenting all eligible family members above 18 years of age to the Block Level Officers (BLOs) during the drive. It also advised BLOs to disseminate proper awareness within their polling station jurisdictions to avoid complaints later.
Raising concerns over the appointment of certain BLOs, the council noted that some Anganwadi workers engaged in the task lack the required capacity to handle the work effectively. HTC recommended that authorities cross-check such appointments to prevent errors in the voter list.
To maintain transparency, the council stressed that deletions, omissions, and transpositions in the rolls should be done only with the knowledge and consent of village chiefs and heads of families, thereby ensuring accountability and avoiding disputes once the final rolls are published.
The HTC further appealed to both the public and BLOs to remain vigilant during the process so that no eligible voter is left out. Reassuring its continued support, the council stated it will work hand in hand with the administration and the people for the success of the drive.
Finally, the HTC urged the ECI and district administration to extend the duration of the SIR drive in Moreh Sub-Division in the interest of the public, ensuring no citizen is deprived of their right to vote.
