
Days after tendering resignation from primary active membership of National Peoples Front, former Lok Sabha member from Outer Manipur Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze joins Nationals Peoplse’s Party on Tuesday.
A formal receiption programme for Dr. Lorho was held at NPP Headquarters in Shillong on Tuesday in the presence of NPP National President Conrad K. Sangma, NPP National Working President James. K Sangma, State President of Meghalaya and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, senior NPP members, ministers, NPP MLAs from Manipur including Manipur NPP President Sheikh Noorul Hassan and MLA Janghhemlung .
Welcoming the former MP, NPP Chief Conrad K. Sangma took to X, formerly twitter and announced the joining of Lorho to NPP.
Sangma wrote, “ Heartiest welcome to Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze, former Lok Sabha member from Outer Manipur to the family of National People's Party. Dr. Lorho brings to the party his experience, his wisdom and his support base from the State of Manipur. We are confident that Dr. Lorho will be an asset to the party and will work closely to further NPP's mantra of One Voice, One North East”.
On September 11, the former Naga Peoples Front MP submitted a resignation letter to the President Naga Peoples Front declaring his decision to resign from the party.
In his resignation letter Lorho wrote, “ This decision has not been easy for me to take. I appreciate the opportunities the Naga People's Front had given me to serve in various capacities as an active member. However, due to personal reasons, it has become necessary for me resign from the Party”.
Lorho was first elected as a Member of the Lok Sabha from Outer Manipur in 2019.
