Cultural Gala in Kangpokpi's School Showcases Unity, Heritage, and Youth Talent

The two-day extravaganza brought together students, faculty, parents, community leaders, and special invitees for a memorable celebration of tradition blended with modern creativity.

MBC Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi lit up with colours, music, and cultural pride as it hosted a grand Cultural Gala 2025 showcasing unity, heritage and young talent in Manipur's Kangpokpi District.

The two-day extravaganza brought together students, faculty, parents, community leaders, and special invitees for a memorable celebration of tradition blended with modern creativity.

The closing event featured James Doujapao Haokip, CEO, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi as the Chief Guest, Zoshi Lamkhohat Haokip, ZEO Kangpokpi, as Guest of Honor, and Hemminthang Kipgen, OC Kangpokpi Police Station, as the Special Guest.

The programme opened with an invocation by Helen Dimngel, followed by a thought-provoking keynote address from Dr. Ngamkhohao Haokip, Principal of MBC Higher Secondary School.

Bir Pradhan, Vice Principal, delivered an insightful presentation, while students from the boarding section electrified the stage with a powerful Cultural Fusion performance. A compelling cultural narration by Thongsei, staff of MBCHSS, added depth and traditional value to the event.

The first session featured traditional showcasing, folk songs in Maram, Nepali, and Thadou, Traditional Show and a soulful Special Number by Hoichingnei (Class XII Science).

The dignitaries delivered their speeches, emphasizing cultural preservation and youth empowerment.

The second session led by the Social Science Club of the school was vibrant with contemporary and cultural displays.

The final session opened with a dynamic performance by the MBCHSS Boyband, setting the tone for a night of glamour and cultural brilliance.

Key highlights included Mr. & Ms. MBCHSS, Nepali, Naga, and Thadou traditional dances, a star segment performance by Rimmy Khongsai and the much-awaited Crowning Moment of Mr. & Ms. MBCHSS.

The event was graced by parents, guardians, Kangpokpi Youth Union, KTC Mission Compound, Manipur Theological College, Kangpokpi Christian Hospital, KCH Nursing School, Zillai Kangpokpi District, student organisations, youth associations, village authorities, civil society groups, and church leaders.

The Cultural Gala 2025 stood out as a powerful reminder of the importance of heritage in education. The fusion of ethnic dances, traditional narratives, music, and modern performances showcased the incredible talents of the students and the strong cultural identity of the community.
